First Lady Erdoğan Engages in Anatolian People Project Programme: ‘Anatolian People as a National Mobilization’
Ankara – President Erdoğan recently highlighted the importance of the People of Anatolia Project, stating that it is part of Turkey’s grand development plans for the years 2023, 2053, and even 2071. He described the project as a major transformation that involves all segments of society, bringing together efforts from farmers in the village, tradesmen in the town, and industrialists in the city. The ultimate goal is to elevate the long-standing production traditions of Anatolia to global markets.
First Lady Erdoğan further emphasized the need for Anatolia’s products to meet international standards and become global brands. She specifically mentioned mohair wool, Bursa silk, and Anzer honey as products with great potential. Strengthening local production is seen as the first step towards achieving these goals.
Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, announced that 49 successful projects within the People of Anatolia Project will receive financial support totaling 187 million lira. As a symbol of gratitude, Kacır presented a work titled “Buram Buram Anatolia” to Emine Erdoğan from the “81 provinces 81 Smells” collection.
During the event, Meltem Demirören, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Demirören Holding, gifted a special book titled “Palestine in the Period of Sultan Abdulhamid II” to First Lady Erdoğan. The book, part of Demirören Publications’ special series, provides a comprehensive look at Palestine in the early 1900s through rare photographs sourced from various archives.
Overall, the People of Anatolia Project aims to revitalize local production, promote traditional products on a global scale, and foster a sense of unity and collaboration among all residents of Anatolia. Through this initiative, Turkey hopes to showcase the richness and diversity of its cultural heritage to the world.
