First Lesson and White Coats at EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Today
A ceremony celebrating World Pharmacists Day was held at the Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Pharmacy on September 25. The event marked the beginning of the new academic year for pharmacist candidates, who put on their white coats and attended their first lesson.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Hayrettin Ozan Gülcan, delivered a speech during the ceremony, highlighting the importance of World Pharmacists Day and providing information about the faculty. Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Karatepe, followed with the first lecture titled “Devotion to Professional Principles”.
In his address, Karatepe emphasized the crucial role of pharmacists as healthcare professionals who are easily accessible to patients. He stressed that the pharmacy profession requires not only professional knowledge but also a deep sense of compassion for humanity.
The ceremony also included an apron-wearing ceremony, symbolizing the dedication and commitment of aspiring pharmacists to their profession. The event served as a reminder of the essential role that pharmacists play in healthcare and their responsibility to uphold professional standards and ethics.
