Five Maternity Hospitals in Kyrgyzstan Receive Equipment to Improve Quality of Services
In a bid to enhance the quality of services for pregnant women, mothers, and newborns, five maternity hospitals in Kyrgyzstan have recently been equipped with new technology. This initiative, funded by the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, aims to improve access to quality medical services through the use of obstetric surveillance and response systems, as well as teleconsultations.
The equipment provided includes 40 tablets for monitoring the birth process, 21 computers for telemedicine and teleconsultations, and additional computers to automate the process of issuing birth certificates for newborns. This will streamline the process for parents, allowing them to apply for birth certificates online while still in the maternity hospitals.
In addition to technical equipment, 100 power banks, blankets for low-birth-weight babies, elbow dispensers for infection control, and closed shoes for medical personnel were also delivered to the five maternity hospitals. These hospitals include the Osh Interregional Combined Clinical Hospital, Jalal-Abad Combined Clinical Hospital, Issyk-Kul and Chui Regional Combined Hospitals, and the perinatal center of the National Center for Maternity and Child Welfare.
The Ministry of Health highlighted the importance of this initiative in improving maternal health in the Kyrgyz Republic. By utilizing technology and fostering collaboration, all stakeholders are working together to ensure the safety and well-being of women and newborns throughout the country. This comprehensive effort is a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services and ultimately improving the overall health outcomes for mothers and babies in the region.
