
FM Saidov Declares Russia as Central Asia’s Closest Partner and Ally

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, has stated that Russia is the closest partner and ally for the Central Asian countries. He emphasized that a confidential dialogue and mutual understanding between Central Asia and Russia is crucial, considering the exacerbation of numerous threats and challenges that the region is facing.
Saidov mentioned that the countries of Central Asia have significantly expanded their cooperation with Russia over the past period, covering various fields such as political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian. Uzbekistan and Russia have always been together, and the countries remain reliable allies and strategic partners.
The discussion took place in Samarkand as part of the “Central Asia + Russia” dialogue. Earlier, the Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergei Lavrov, expressed that Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan have made progress in discussing the tripartite gas union project.
