Foreign Ban on TÜSİAD Executives

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation into Turkish Industrialists’ and Business People Association (TÜSİAD) Chairman Orhan Turan and High Advisory Council (YİK) Chairman Mehmet Ömer Arif Aras. The investigation revolves around allegations of suggesting and referral content expressions made during the Association’s General Assembly on February 13.
After completing their statements in the Criminal Criminal Court of Peace, the judge decided to release both suspects with a ban on going abroad.
The investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office following Turan’s speech at the General Assembly, where he made statements suggesting influence on judicial processes and spreading misleading information. The crimes being investigated include “attempting to influence the fair trial” and “publicly spreading misleading information”.
Both Turan and Aras were instructed to provide statements at the Istanbul Police Department Security Branch as part of the investigation. They were taken to the Istanbul Courthouse for questioning.
The outcome of the investigation remains to be seen as authorities delve into the allegations against the TÜSİAD officials. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
