Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Meets with UN Secretary-General in New York
During his working visit to New York, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, held a meeting with António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported on the outcomes of the meeting.
Minister Kulubaev reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s strong commitment to the United Nations’ important role in promoting international peace and security, as well as addressing global socio-economic and climate-related challenges. He also highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and outlined the country’s key national priorities, including the mountain agenda, green economy development, and environmental protection. Minister Kulubaev sought continued support from the UN to advance these critical issues on a global scale.
In addition, Minister Kulubaev provided an update to the Secretary-General on recent political developments in Central Asia. He emphasized the collaborative efforts of countries in the region to enhance peace, stability, and cooperation.
Both parties discussed opportunities for further collaboration within the UN framework and stressed the importance of constructive dialogue in addressing current global challenges.
