Foreign Press Union Holds 18th General Assembly, President Burhan Canbaz Elected
The 18th Ordinary General Assembly of the Foreign Press Association (DBB) recently took place with a high level of attendance. The assembly began with the election of the Council Board and continued with the recitation of the National Anthem.
Journalist Akay Cemal was elected as the chairman of the Council Board, with Emir Ersoy and Emine Sivri Karahan serving as assistants. The General Assembly featured messages from prominent figures such as President Ersin Tatar, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, and Turkish Journalists Federation Chairman Yılmaz Karaca.
During the assembly, Secretary General of the Foreign Press Union Taner Gönül presented the financial report, which was unanimously approved. The outgoing Chairman, Selim Sayar, highlighted the association’s achievements and efforts during his tenure.
In a significant development, Burhan Canbaz was elected as the new leader of the Foreign Press Association following a vote at the General Assembly. In his acceptance speech, Canbaz expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the association and outlined his vision for the future.
