Foreign Tech Giants Contribute 48 Billion UZS in Taxes to Uzbekistan Over Six Months
Meta, Google, and Apple Top List of Highest Taxpayers in Uzbekistan
Meta, Google, and Apple have emerged as the top three highest taxpayers in Uzbekistan, according to the Tax Committee. A total of 60 foreign companies providing electronic services contributed 48.4 billion UZS in taxes to the country from January to June 2024, marking a 1.5 times increase compared to the same period last year.
Notably, 95.1% of the total taxes paid were contributed by just 10 foreign companies in the electronic services sector. The top taxpayers in this category include Meta with 18.4 billion UZS, Google with 12.9 billion UZS, and Apple with 9.8 billion UZS. Other notable companies on the list include Booking.com, Amazon, Zoom, Netflix, Acca, Xsolla, and Adobe.
Foreign legal entities providing electronic services in Uzbekistan are required to submit their tax reports and pay taxes by the 20th day of the month following the quarter. The significant contributions from these foreign companies highlight their commitment to fulfilling their tax obligations in the country.
