Foreign Tourist Visits to Uzbekistan Exceed 6.6 Million in 2023
Last year, Uzbekistan welcomed more than 6.6 million foreign citizens, with the majority of them, approximately 5.6 million people, stating that the purpose of their trip was to visit relatives. This information comes from the Statistics Agency, which also reported the various other reasons for travel among foreign citizens.
According to the agency’s data, 773.2 thousand people visited Uzbekistan for recreation, while 143.5 thousand traveled for work and 70.4 thousand for business purposes. Additionally, 61.3 thousand visited for treatment, and 16.8 thousand for studies.
These numbers highlight the diverse reasons for foreign citizens’ visits to Uzbekistan, showing that the country is not only a popular tourist destination but also a place where many people come to visit family, work, or study. The data also points to the importance of family ties and the significant role they play in attracting visitors to the country.
