Foreigner Arrested for Allegedly Issuing Illegal Visas
Bishkek – The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has uncovered a scheme for the illegal issuance of visas for foreigners to enter the country. The SCNS reported that a Pakistani citizen, identified as A.M., who has been residing in Kyrgyzstan for over 17 years, promised electronic visas to 14 of his fellow citizens. He collected more than one million soms from the victims for this fraudulent activity.
As a result, the suspect was taken into custody on March 18 as part of a criminal investigation into forgery of documents and fraud under the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The authorities are taking swift action to address this issue and ensure the security and integrity of the country’s visa issuance process.
