Former Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer Faces Arrest Request for Tender Rigging
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is carrying out an investigation into a criminal organization that has been found to rig tender processes by bribing mayors. As part of this investigation, the statement of former Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer has been taken.
Ahmet Özer, who was previously arrested and suspended from duty in a separate investigation for the crime of “being a member of the PKK/KCK armed terrorist organization”, has now been referred to the judgeship on duty with a request for his arrest on charges of “tender rigging”.
