Former Roscosmos Head Accuses Academics of Criticizing Him Without Evidence
Dmitry Rogozin, the former head of Roscosmos, has claimed that unnamed academics criticized him for undermining cooperation with NASA without providing any evidence. Rogozin explained that he continued his efforts to cooperate with NASA when he was appointed as Roscosmos’ head in 2018, but he allegedly received an angry call from a senior official who accused him of complicating international relations. Despite this, he maintained that no evidence was ever presented to him to support these claims.
Rogozin’s allegations highlight the challenges facing international space cooperation and the tension in the relationship between Russia and the United States. These issues have been evident since the Cold War era, when both nations competed against each other to develop space technology. However, this competition was eventually replaced with cooperation, and the two countries have since worked together on important missions such as the International Space Station.
