France to Distribute ‘Survival Guide’ to Citizens
France is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and preparedness of its citizens in the face of potential crises. Prime Minister François Bayrou has announced the development of a survival guide aimed at improving the resistance of citizens to different types of emergencies.
The guide will cover a wide range of scenarios, including natural disasters, technological and cyber events, health crises like COVID-19, terrorist attacks, and security crises such as armed conflict. It is set to be a 20-page booklet that will be delivered to households before summer, if approved by Bayrou.
This initiative follows similar efforts in countries like Sweden and Finland, where booklets on emergency preparedness have been distributed to millions of households. The new guide will offer practical advice on how to protect oneself and loved ones in the face of sudden danger, including emergency contact information, radio channels to follow, and recommendations for creating a survival kit with essential supplies.
President Macron has also announced a “great revision” in France’s security forces, with plans to increase the number of operational reserves from 40,000 to 100,000 by 2035. Additional measures on military capabilities, investments, and equipment are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Macron emphasized the importance of defense and preparedness in preventing conflict, stating, “Our country and our continent, if we want to prevent war, we should continue to defend, equip, and prepare ourselves.” The French government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens in the face of uncertain times.
