The Promise of a Fake TOEFL Certificate: A Suspect Detained for Fraud and Bribery
Law enforcement officers recently detained a suspect, identified as citizen G.N., who promised to provide a TOEFL certificate confirming knowledge of the English language. This operation was a result of the efforts of the PGO Department for Combating Economic Crimes.
The suspect managed to gain the trust of another individual, citizen D.B., by offering to arrange a TOEFL certificate for $1,500. The promise included the assurance that the certificate would be obtained through high-ranking acquaintances without the need to actually take the exam.
Upon discovering this fraudulent scheme, a criminal case has been initiated under Articles 168 (Fraud) and 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are currently ongoing to uncover the full extent of the scam and hold those involved accountable.
