Man Arrested for Murder and Arson in Ankara
After a fire broke out in a house in the Yaşamkent Neighborhood of the Çankaya district in Ankara, the body of Ü.U. (65) was found. An investigation by the Ankara Police Department Public Security Branch Homicide Bureau revealed that Ü.U. had been killed by a blow to the head, made to look like a fall.
Further examination of security camera footage led to the identification of suspect S.K., who had left his home shortly before the incident. It was discovered that S.K. had staged his movements to mislead the police, making it appear as though he was traveling to AŞTİ. In reality, he had killed his friend during an argument by striking him with a hammer before setting fire to the house to cover up the crime. Despite his attempts to evade capture, S.K. was apprehended at an entertainment venue.
The authorities are continuing to investigate the motive behind the murder and arson, as well as any potential accomplices. Residents of the neighborhood are shocked by the heinous act committed by someone they once trusted.
