Galatasaray’s Return: The Missing and the Returned
After a period of recovery from their injuries, Abdülkerim Bardakcı and Sergio Oliveira are set to make a return to the yellow-red team’s lineup for an upcoming match.
Abdülkerim sustained an injury during the away match against Trabzonspor on January 21 in the 22nd week of the Super League, causing him to miss 4 Super League and 1 Turkish Cup match. Meanwhile, Oliveira, who injured his pectoral muscle during training and underwent surgery in his native Portugal, will be back on the field in approximately 2 months. The experienced midfielder has missed 10 Super League matches and 2 Turkish Cup matches since his last game on December 8, 2023.
Unfortunately, Hakim Ziyech and Derrick Köhn will not be able to play in the upcoming match due to their injuries. Additionally, Galatasaray recently made some changes to its squad during the interim transfer period, adding Carlos Vinicius, Serge Aurier, and Berkan Kutlu while loaning out Berkan Kutlu to Genoa and parting ways with Sacha Boey, Angelino, and Cedric Bakambu.
Despite these changes, the team is unable to benefit from young football player Eyüp Aydın, who is not in the UEFA squad. It remains to be seen how these adjustments will impact Galatasaray’s performance in future matches.
