“Galatasaray’s 20 Players Energized by First Championship Win”
Galatasaray’s Uruguayan goalkeeper, Fernando Muslera, is on the verge of winning his 6th Super League championship title if MKE Ankaragücü can secure the desired result. Muslera, having joined the team in 2011, has spent 12 seasons with the team, where he previously won the Super League title in 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2014-2015, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019. Alongside Muslera, other players in the Galatasaray squad have experienced success in different leagues. Sergio Oliveira and Fredrik Midtsjö won the Portuguese and Norwegian League titles three times respectively, while Mauro Icardi won twice in the Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain, and Lucas Torreira won the La Liga championship in the 2020-2021 season.
Juan Mata, considered the team’s most accomplished player, will win the championship for the first time in a league organization if Galatasaray can clinch the title this season. Although Mata has won international honors with the Spanish National Team and various club competitions, his collection is missing a league championship medal. Galatasaray, however, is currently sitting at the top of the Super League standings, and the team’s fans are optimistic that Muslera, Mata, and the rest of the squad can bring home another championship trophy.
