
Gallops Expedition: Horse Racing in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan to Host Gallops Expedition Horse Race in July 2025
Bishkek – 09:52, 05 March 2025 – The Department of Tourism in Kyrgyzstan has announced that the country will host Gallops, a world-famous expedition horse race, from July 19 to July 27, 2025 on the shores of Son-Kul Lake.
Gallops is an equestrian marathon in the Paris-Dakar format, which is a team competition focusing on orientation and endurance. Participants will cover approximately 200 kilometers over the course of five days, traversing the vast landscapes of the Kyrgyz Republic. The race will test their riding skills, fortitude, self-discipline, and team unity.
The project is expected to bring together 100 riders from more than 15 countries, including actors, celebrities, and representatives of royal families. The race has previously been held in Oman in 2014, Morocco in 2018, India in 2019, and Jordan in 2021.
This event is set to showcase the natural beauty and hospitality of Kyrgyzstan, while providing a thrilling and challenging experience for participants and spectators alike. Stay tuned for more updates on Gallops 2025!
