Galuzin: Armenians need to understand the losses from leaving EAEU

Armenia Faces Decision Between EAEU and EU, Says Russian Deputy Foreign Minister

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has stated that it is impossible for Armenia to be a part of both the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU) simultaneously. He emphasized that the decision of where to align lies with Armenia itself.

“We hope that all the benefits of membership in the EAEU and the scale of losses from breaking with the EAEU will be explained to the Armenian society so that the Armenian society has an objective idea of reality,” Galuzin said in a statement to RIA Novosti.

Galuzin highlighted the differences between the EAEU and the EU, stating that the EAEU is an association of equal states, while the EU operates under a strict discipline framework that follows anti-Russian narratives set by Brussels bureaucrats who are detached from reality.

The statement comes amidst discussions regarding Armenia’s future trajectory and its relationship with regional and international economic unions. The choice between the EAEU and the EU is a crucial decision that Armenia will have to make based on its priorities and strategic interests.
