Goodbye Ritz-Carlton, Hello New Ultra-Luxury Hotel Brand in Budapest

The iconic Ritz-Carlton hotel in central Budapest is undergoing a major transformation, with a new vision and brand identity. Formerly known as the Ritz-Carlton, the hotel will now operate under the name Al Habtoor Palace, offering a new level of ultra-luxury hospitality.
The decision to rebrand the hotel comes after a dispute between the Al Habtoor Group and the Marriott Group, resulting in the termination of the Ritz-Carlton management contract. The owner, seeking substantial damages, has decided to operate independently under the new Al Habtoor Palace brand.
The Al Habtoor Group, a prominent business group in the Middle East, aims to elevate its brand to a global stage with the launch of Al Habtoor Palace in Budapest. The vision behind the new brand is to offer unparalleled luxury, unique guest experiences, sophisticated services, and world-class quality to guests in Europe.
The Al Habtoor Group’s owner, Khalaf Al-Habtoor, chose Budapest for the European debut of Al Habtoor Palace due to his personal connection to Hungary and the city’s rich cultural heritage. The decision reflects the group’s commitment to showcasing premium services and hospitality in a strategic location in Central Europe.
The launch of Al Habtoor Palace marks a new era for luxury hospitality in the city centre. The hotel’s new identity and services will combine the richness of its historic surroundings with the innovation of modern luxury, offering guests a truly unique and unforgettable experience. Budapest now stands as a global stage for the Al Habtoor Group’s home brand, with Al Habtoor Palace leading the way in ultra-luxury hospitality.
