Google Developer Group in Ashgabat Hosts Workshop on Developer Opportunities
On Sunday, February 4, the Google Developer Group in Ashgabat (GDG Ashgabat) organized a workshop to showcase the various developer opportunities provided by Google. The Tech Talk event took place at the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and attracted practicing developers, students, business representatives, and high school students from across Turkmenistan.
During the session, the GDG Ashgabat organizers discussed platforms and competitions offered by Google, which provide mentorship from the tech giant’s experts and a prize budget for project implementation. A representative from Turkmenistan’s first Google Student Developers Club (GDSC IUHD) also presented information about the annual Solution Challenge project aimed at students.
For the first time, students from Turkmenistan had the opportunity to participate in this global competition. In order to raise awareness about the project and its requirements, representatives from GDG Ashgabat and GDSC IUHD conducted an interview with a Kazakh student whose project ranked among the top 10 best solutions worldwide.
Wrapping up the meeting, Microsoft interns who were invited as speakers shared insights about Google’s artificial intelligence model – Gemini AI. They presented statistics and comparative test results of the Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT-4 models, and provided examples of using the AI model in business, information technology, web development, and process automation.
The workshop served as a valuable platform for local developers and students to learn about the opportunities and resources available to them through Google. Such initiatives help to foster a thriving tech community in Turkmenistan, opening doors for innovation and growth in the field of technology.
