Government Agencies Criticized for Hosting New Year’s Corporate Parties – Tashiev

SCNS Chairman Calls for an End to New Year’s Corporate Parties

Kamchybek Tashiev, the head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS), has made a bold statement urging civil servants to put an end to the long-standing tradition of holding New Year’s corporate parties. In a live broadcast on Facebook, Tashiev emphasized that such parties are unnecessary and the funds allocated for them would be better spent on charitable activities.

Tashiev pointed out that official celebrations, including the presidential New Year party and other events involving government officials, are sufficient to create a festive atmosphere. He revealed that the SCNS has already taken the step of banning corporate parties within their organization, but the practice continues in other government agencies.

According to Tashiev, an estimated thousand corporate parties are held annually across government agencies, costing around $1 million. He stressed that this money could be used to provide housing for 200 disadvantaged families instead.

The SCNS Chairman urged civil servants to reconsider their priorities and focus on official New Year’s events rather than additional corporate parties. He emphasized that greetings from the President, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Speaker are sufficient for the holiday season, and further congratulations from other officials are unnecessary.

Tashiev highlighted that promoting order and discipline within government agencies starts with ending extravagant corporate parties. He noted that the leaders’ greetings on behalf of the country are a significant gesture that should be appreciated and respected by all.
