Government Increases Blood Donor Compensation

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has recently made a decision that will impact blood donors in the country. The resolution adopted by the government concerns the payment of compensation to individuals who donate blood.

Under the new guidelines, the Ministry of Health is required to ensure that donors are compensated according to the following amounts:

– Three calculated rates (300 soms) for individuals who donate blood or its components for free
– Eight calculated rates (800 soms) for individuals who donate blood or its components for a fee
– 12 calculated rates (1,200 soms) for donors who give plasma or its components for a fee with double plasmapheresis
– 12 calculated rates (1,200 soms) for donors who provide two doses of platelets for a fee
– 16 calculated rates (1,600 soms) for donors who donate immune plasma for a fee with double plasmapheresis

The Ministry of Finance has been tasked with ensuring that the funds are available for the timely payment of compensation to donors.

Additionally, the government has declared the previous decree from 2009, which provided benefits to honorary donors of the Kyrgyz Republic, as invalid. Under the old rules, donors received 300 soms for a paid blood donation and 500 soms for plasma donations. Voluntary donors received 100 soms for travel expenses, and honorary donors were given 1,000 soms from the state each month.

These changes aim to better compensate and support blood donors in Kyrgyzstan, ultimately encouraging more individuals to contribute to this life-saving cause.
