Government Initiates Data Processing Center for Cybersecurity Enhancement

Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan to Open Backup Data Processing Center

The Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of Kyrgyzstan has announced plans to open a backup data processing center in order to enhance cybersecurity within the country. This initiative comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to improve digital services and protect sensitive information.

In a recent report, the ministry highlighted the progress made in the past year, with over 37 government agencies providing services through the electronic services portal. The Tunduk system, which facilitates data exchanges, saw over 3.5 billion transactions, resulting in significant cost savings for the government.

Over 1 million citizens and 42,000 companies have utilized electronic signatures, with 8.7 million documents registered in the electronic document management system. The Tunduk mobile application, offering access to 60 government services and 10 digital documents, has been downloaded 3 million times.

Furthermore, the digital identification system has seen two million new users, with the introduction of logins via QR code and biometric data. The ministry has also started implementing artificial intelligence in pilot projects to automate state services and analyze requests more efficiently.

Looking ahead to 2025, the Ministry of Digital Development has outlined key objectives, including launching the state cloud platform G-Cloud, establishing an IT college for government employees, adopting a Digital Code, and increasing the range of digital services available to the public and businesses.

With these initiatives, Kyrgyzstan aims to bolster its digital infrastructure, improve service delivery, and protect sensitive information in an increasingly digital world.
