Government Launches New Support Programs for Vulnerable Populations
New Support Measures for Low-Income Families Introduced in 2025
Starting in April 2025, new support measures will be implemented for families listed in the Register of Low-Income Families through the “Social Registers” funds. This initiative comes as a result of a presidential decree aimed at enhancing the financing procedures of the social protection system.
The new support mechanisms set to be introduced for low-income families listed in the Register of Low-Income Families through the “Social Registers” funds will take effect on April 1, 2025. These measures include grants of up to 60 times the base calculation unit (BCU), which will be allocated to social projects focused on promoting employment and social engagement for women, youth, and other vulnerable populations. These funds will be distributed through the “Women’s Register,” “Youth Register,” and “Charity and Assistance” programs.
Specifically, funds from the “Youth Register” will be used for various purposes such as covering monthly travel expenses up to 1 BCU for young people with disabilities to participate in para sports clubs. Additionally, the fund will provide special sports uniforms, equipment, music, and musical instruments for youth who have regularly attended sports and arts clubs for six months, with a maximum value not exceeding 10 times the BCU.
Moreover, financial support will be offered for the restoration and repair of homes for families impacted by natural disasters like fires, floods, earthquakes, and other man-made accidents. This assistance will be provided through the “Charity and Assistance” fund, with support of up to 150 times the BCU.
These new support measures aim to improve the quality of life for low-income families and foster social inclusion and engagement for vulnerable populations in the community. The implementation of these initiatives represents a step forward in enhancing the social protection system and supporting those in need.
