Green Energy Powers Azerbaijan’s Industrial Parks

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev Promotes Renewable Energy for Industrial Parks

In a significant move towards sustainable development, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has officially signed a decree aimed at enhancing the supply of renewable energy to industrial parks in the country. This decree is a proactive step in fortifying the country’s green energy initiatives.

According to the newly enacted measure, the Cabinet of Ministers is tasked with ensuring that the energy balance accounts for the electricity needs of industrial parks. This allocation will include electricity generated from renewable sources at guaranteed tariffs, meeting the total demand required for operational projects within these parks.

The managing organization responsible for the state’s industrial parks is mandated to provide electricity generated from renewable sources. This will be carried out in alignment with agreements established with both resident and non-resident entities. Furthermore, the organization must adhere to the stipulations outlined in the Law on Electric Power.

To facilitate this ambitious initiative, Azerenergy and Azerishig OJSCs are directed to finalize the necessary agreements that will enable the managing organization to supply electricity through the existing transmission and distribution networks.

This decree not only signifies a commitment to transitioning to a more sustainable energy model but also highlights Azerbaijan’s strategic focus on fostering environmentally friendly practices within its industrial sector. As the country continues to invest in renewable energy, this initiative is expected to support economic growth while addressing modern energy challenges.
