Inter Milan Secures Spot in Champions League Final with 1-0 Victory Over Rival Milan
In a highly anticipated rematch, Inter Milan defeated their arch-rival, Milan, 1-0 in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The victory secured Inter Milan’s spot in the finals, which will take place at their home stadium in Turkey.
After the match, Inter Milan midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu, expressed his elation to the broadcaster. “Two months ago I was calling it a dream. Now we are going to play the final at my house (in Turkey), it is a dream to be there. I congratulate the technical committee, my teammates, the fans, but also to Milan, who played well today. Today was very valuable to us. I am very happy,” said Calhanoglu.
Calhanoglu, who previously played for rival team Milan, was asked about his experience playing in derbies. “Last year was heavy for me because of what happened, but the past is in the past. I have a good relationship with my former teammates, I respect Maldini,” he said.
On his Instagram account, Calhanoglu shared a photo of himself holding a Turkish flag with the Galata Tower in the background, wearing an Inter Milan jersey with the caption, “I’m coming to my house.”
Inter Milan will now face off against either Real Madrid or Chelsea in the Champions League Final on May 29th. The team will have the advantage of playing on their home turf in Istanbul, Turkey. Fans of the team are eagerly anticipating the event and hoping for an Inter Milan victory.
