Kyrgyzstan to Develop Unified Design for Cemeteries
In a recent announcement by the State Construction Agency of Kyrgyzstan, it was revealed that a unified design for cemeteries will be developed in the country following the instruction of President Sadyr Japarov. Nurdan Oruntaev, the head of the agency, shared these plans during a briefing session.
The decision comes after President Japarov discussed the importance of having a standardized approach to burial sites in an interview with Ala-Too 24 TV channel. He emphasized the need for a system that is both accessible and cost-effective while also respecting religious beliefs.
“We fully support this initiative and are working on developing a unified set of burial measures. This practice is common in developed countries and we aim to preserve our religious traditions while ensuring a harmonious and organized cemetery layout,” stated Nurdan Oruntaev.
Additionally, the agency is also looking into the issue of reclaiming burial sites that have been closed for more than 40 years. Oruntaev highlighted the importance of maintaining order in cemeteries and complying with the law regarding reclamation processes.
It is worth noting that President Japarov has previously expressed his disapproval of the construction of tombstones, monuments, and iron fences in cemeteries, further underlining the importance of the upcoming unified design for cemeteries in Kyrgyzstan.
