
Havva Özay Memorial Tournaments for Primary Schools Held – BRTK

The Havva Özay Memorial Tournaments for Primary Schools concluded last weekend with five different age group tournaments taking place. A total of 72 junior chess players from primary schools participated in these tournaments, making moves in memory of the late Havva Özay.
The winners of the five different categories were announced and awarded at the end of the tournaments. In the 2017 Born category, Mehmet Yiğit Küçük claimed the first place, followed by Yağız Aydin in second place, and Albert Alkım, Foot Cow, and Kemal Nacak securing the third, fourth, and fifth places respectively. The most successful female chess player in this category was Arya Kerem.
In the 2016 Born category, Aziz Haklıgil emerged as the winner, while Osman Tümen and Kumsal Kobak took the second and third places. Ela Naz Cevheroğlu and Ozan Dağlı secured the fourth and fifth places respectively. Lütfiye Kobak was recognized as the most successful female athlete in this category.
Arkin Slave claimed the first position in the 2015 Born category, followed by Ali Efe Cebeci in second place, and Arya Emin, Muharrem Kahraman, and Alican Yenağralı securing the third, fourth, and fifth places respectively. Larin Kahraman was honored as the most successful female athlete in this category.
Salih Ismayilov emerged as the winner in the 2014 Born category, with Alisa Arefi and İzzet Özer taking the second and third places. Eymen Enver Yerli and Boran Özdoğan secured the fourth and fifth places respectively. Sude Naz Tütengil was recognized as the most successful female athlete in this category.
In the 2013 Born category, Deniz İsmail Çiçek claimed the first position, with Alya Karatepe and Hale Dagger securing the second and third places. Lâl Duru Ekşici and Ali Dogan secured the fourth and fifth places respectively.
The Havva Özay Memorial Tournaments provided a platform for primary school chess players to showcase their skills and pay tribute to the late Havva Özay. These young athletes have shown exceptional talent and determination, and their success in the tournaments is a testament to their hard work and dedication.
