Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan meets with relatives of girl who died during dental surgery
Bishkek – 11:28, 19 January 2024 – The Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, recently met with the relatives of a three-year-old girl who tragically died during a surgery in the dental department of the medical center of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. The press center of the ministry reported that the official expressed his condolences to the girl’s relatives and listened to their requests and arguments.
During the meeting, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev announced that the director of the center, the head of the department, anesthesiologist, and dentist involved in the case have all been fired. He assured the relatives that those responsible will be punished according to the law.
In response to the incident, the Ministry of Health has created a commission that gave recommendations to law enforcement agencies for further decisions. The dental department of the medical center of Kyrgyz State Medical Academy has been closed, as well as the private dental clinic where the girl was initially taken for help.
The tragic incident occurred after the girl was given general anesthesia, leading to her untimely death. As a result, the police have opened a criminal case, and the Ministry of Health has created a commission to investigate the matter further.
