Health Ministry Honored with UN Award for NCD Work
The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan Receives UN Award for Fight Against Non-Communicable Diseases
The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan has been honored with a prestigious UN award for its outstanding contribution to the battle against non-communicable diseases. This recognition was announced by the ministry’s press center.
During the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Ministry of Health was bestowed with the esteemed award from the UN Working Group on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) for the year 2024.
The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed gratitude for this accolade, highlighting that it signifies the acknowledgment of the collaborative efforts of the ministry, as well as all government and public entities involved in combating NCDs.
Emphasizing the importance of intersectoral collaboration and a comprehensive approach to NCD prevention, the ministry stated, “Intersectoral interaction and an integrated approach to the prevention of non-communicable diseases are essential elements in building a healthy society and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
The award not only recognizes the Ministry of Health’s hard work but also acknowledges the dedication of all individuals striving daily to alleviate the impact of NCDs on society.
