Hide the Pain Harold Transforms into Prodigy and Baby Shark in New Campaign Video!
Hide the Pain Harold, also known as Andras Arató, is stepping up to raise awareness about the importance of starting Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in a new campaign.
In collaboration with the National Ambulance Service Foundation, Hide the Pain Harold is highlighting the significance of lay resuscitation, which can be a life-saving measure in cases of cardiac arrest. The first few minutes are crucial in the event of sudden cardiac death, and performing two chest compressions per second can greatly increase the chances of survival. This initiative comes at a time when sudden cardiac death is a leading cause of mortality in Hungary, affecting 70 individuals daily.
As part of the campaign, Hide the Pain Harold is promoting the use of songs such as Breathe by Prodigy, I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor, Shakira’s Wherever, Whenever, and Baby Shark to help individuals maintain the correct rhythm for chest compressions during CPR. The campaign’s video premiere was timed to coincide with International CPR Day on 16 October.
Although initially hesitant about the role, the 79-year-old meme star acknowledged the positive impact of the cause, especially given his family’s background in emergency services. Despite facing challenges with a shark costume used in the campaign, Arató’s commitment to the initiative remains unwavering.
Dr. Éva Czakler, a paramedic and chair of the foundation’s board of trustees, outlined the necessary steps for effective resuscitation, emphasizing the importance of calling emergency services first and maintaining a consistent rhythm during chest compressions.
