Hippodrome Sale Funds to Address Bishkek’s Issues

The Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Dzhunushaliev, has announced that funds from the sale of the Ak-Kula property complex will be utilized to address social issues in the capital city. This decision was revealed during a meeting with parliamentary factions, including Ata Jurt Kyrgyzstan, Ishenim, Yntymak, and Mekenchil parliamentary group.

In his report to the deputies, Mayor Dzhunushaliev outlined the current socio-economic situation in Bishkek and highlighted the municipality’s efforts within the administrative-territorial reform framework. He pointed out that the lack of auctions for the sale of municipal property in the past 1.5 years has led to insufficient income generation.

“The main priority this year is to generate revenue from the sale of Ak-Kula hippodrome land to support the city’s budget. We are currently auctioning off 37 plots of land, and the proceeds will be used to address pressing social, housing, and utility issues in Bishkek,” stated Mayor Dzhunushaliev.

Although the first auction for the sale of Ak-Kula hippodrome was scheduled for May 16, it was postponed due to a lack of bids. The property complex will be re-auctioned in the future to raise funds for vital city projects and initiatives.
