Incident in Avcılar: Man stabbed in the head after warning person who hit his girlfriend
A shocking incident took place yesterday in the University District Zambak Street in Avcılar. A young couple was walking on the street after having dinner at a restaurant when a person, allegedly drunk, hit the woman. The young man warned the attacker, which led to a heated argument. Suddenly, the attacker pulled out a knife and stabbed the young man in the head.
The injured man received first aid from his girlfriend and bystanders before being rushed to the hospital by an ambulance. Meanwhile, the alleged attacker managed to flee the scene by boarding a passing minibus. The police have launched a search operation to apprehend the assailant.
Eyewitness Burhan Şener, who works on the same street, described the scene, stating “We heard shouting around 6:00 in the evening. There were three adults, one female, and two males. The injured person was with his girlfriend when he confronted the attacker, who then stabbed him in the head with a cutting tool. The ambulance and police arrived and took him away. The injured person was conscious. The attacker fled, and we did not see what happened after that.”
The authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, and the public is urged to come forward with any information that may help in locating the suspect.
