House of Music’s Sound Dome: Reopened with Festival and Enhanced Immersive Experience

The House of Music is thrilled to announce the upcoming festival DOME_RELOAD, celebrating the reopening of its fully upgraded immersive cinematic room, the Sound Dome. The festival will take place from January 14 to 19, offering an audiovisual program series that is not to be missed.
Since its opening three years ago, the House of Music has captivated over 170,000 viewers with its 30-minute immersive films, showcasing a repertoire of 27 titles. Director Márton Horn expressed his excitement for the festival and the continued success of the Sound Dome.
Featured films include Hungarian composer Tibor Szemző’s Csoma Kaleidoscope, Poeme Symphonique For 100 Metronomes in honor of György Ligeti, and various art films highlighting Renoir, Bosch, and Tivadar Csontváry. The Dome will continue its tradition of screening new productions monthly, curated in collaboration with students from Budapest’s Liszt Academy of Music, MOME University of Art and Design, and international partner institutions.
The upgraded audio technology of the Dome allows for sounds to move in three dimensions, coupled with a 360-degree projection of images using five high-tech projectors. In February, audiences can expect a new immersive title featuring content from Mauritius, Indonesia, the US, Spain, France, and Hungary. Director Horn shared that the House of Music welcomed 700,000 visitors last year, solidifying its status as a must-visit cultural destination.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the magic of the Sound Dome at the House of Music during the DOME_RELOAD festival.
