Huawei Unveils World’s First Satellite Communication Tablet, MatePad Pro 11 (2024)
Chinese company Huawei has made a remarkable leap in the world of technology by introducing the world’s first tablet computer with satellite communication support. The new MatePad Pro 11 (2024) is currently available exclusively in China, where satellite communication support is provided using the local Beidou system.
This groundbreaking device will enable users to access satellite communications within the Celestial Empire, where it can connect with Beidou orbiters located up to 36,000 km from the Earth’s surface. Huawei has implemented advanced technology in the MatePad Pro 11, including algorithms with high signal gain and innovative communication protocols, promising a significant improvement in the quality of communication without the need for additional antennas.
The MatePad Pro 11 (2024) boasts an 11-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, making it one of the thinnest devices of its kind. Its compact dimensions are 249 × 160 × 5.9 mm, and it weighs just 449 grams. The tablet operates on the HarmonyOS 4 platform and is powered by Huawei’s proprietary Kirin 9000S processor, offering high performance and 5G support.
