Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán awarded Russian Order of Glory and Honour
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has been awarded the First Degree of the Order of Glory and Honour by the Patriarch of Moscow, Kirill. The Patriarch praised Orbán’s dedication to Hungary and his achievements in a “not easy career.” He went on to say that Orbán’s persistent efforts have led to steady economic and social progress and an independent foreign and domestic policy. The Patriarch expressed his gratitude for Orbán’s support to the Russian Orthodox Church’s diocese in Budapest and Hungary.
In addition, the Patriarch highlighted Orbán’s attention to preserving Christian values and strengthening the institution of family and marriage in Hungarian society. He also acknowledged the renovation of churches and significant projects that promote spiritual enlightenment and friendly relations between the peoples of Hungary and Russia, with the participation of the Hungarian government.
The Prime Minister’s outstanding contribution to the strengthening of traditional moral values in European society was also recognized, leading to his award. Patriarch Kirill believes that this is a just and worthy recognition of the Hungarian leader’s achievements.
Viktor Orbán has received numerous accolades and awards throughout his career, and the First Degree of the Order of Glory and Honour from the Patriarch of Moscow is now among them.
