Hungary Seeks Long-Term Textile Partnership with Uzbekistan

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Oybek Shakhavdinov, recently met with the head of the Hungarian textile company “Pólónagyker,” Mihály Vandor, to discuss potential collaborations between the two countries in the textile industry.

During the meeting, Ambassador Shakhavdinov highlighted the modern production facilities and abundance of high-quality cotton in Uzbekistan. He also shared information about the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at improving the business climate, including tax incentives, simplified administrative procedures, and the protection of foreign investors’ rights. The ambassador expressed Uzbekistan’s readiness to collaborate on joint innovative projects and adopt advanced technologies.

In response, the Hungarian side expressed interest in participating in the Joint Conference of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) & International Apparel Federation (IAF) Convention 2024, which will take place in Samarkand from September 8-10. Hungarian businessmen are looking forward to holding B2B meetings with Uzbek textile manufacturers during the conference to establish cooperation and long-term supply agreements for textile products to Hungary.

Furthermore, the conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in business tours to Uzbekistan’s textile and garment production facilities. These tours will provide valuable insights into the production processes, innovations, and the quality of local products, allowing for a deeper understanding of the Uzbek textile industry.
