Hungary’s Aid to Chad with Support from PM Orbán’s Son

The Hungary Helps Programme is once again demonstrating its commitment to providing emergency aid to those in need, this time in the aftermath of a tragic explosion in N’Djamena, Chad. According to an announcement made on the programme’s Facebook page on Friday, the programme is extending aid to civilians who were wounded in the explosion of an ammunition depot as well as to the central hospital in the capital city.

The explosion at the ammunition depot resulted in the deaths of nine individuals and left 46 others injured. In response to this tragedy, Hungary Helps has launched a comprehensive humanitarian aid initiative.

One of the first steps taken by the programme was to dispatch staff from the Hungary Helps Agency’s office in Chad and the Hungarian embassy’s head of mission to visit the central hospital. During this visit, 35 boxes of much-needed medicine were provided to the hospital based on a request from the hospital director.

It is worth noting that the Hungarian government established a complex humanitarian and development centre in the capital of Chad earlier this year, with the goal of enhancing the stability of the Sahel region.

In addition to its recent efforts in Chad, Hungary has also been focusing on strengthening cooperation with the country to promote regional stability. Hungarian Foreign Minister highlighted this cooperation in a recent statement, emphasizing the importance of working together to address challenges in the region.

This latest initiative by the Hungary Helps Programme serves as a reminder of the importance of international cooperation and support in times of crisis. By extending aid to those affected by the explosion in N’Djamena, Hungary is once again demonstrating its commitment to helping those in need, regardless of geographic boundaries.
