Hungary’s Biggest Hospital Project Set for Handover

Hungary’s largest hospital development project is nearing completion, with the new 112-bed hospital block at Fejér County Szent György University Teaching Hospital set to begin operational tests soon. The construction of the new building, financed with HUF 14 billion (EUR 35 million) of public funds, is a significant project not only for Székesfehérvár but also for the region.

Fejér-B.Á.L. Zrt. and Épkar Zrt. are collaborating on the three-and-a-half-story block, where the operational tests are scheduled to commence in the summer. The new hospital building will include a pulmonary department alongside the internal medicine department, catering to patients with cancer and infectious diseases.

The construction progress was shared by Hungarian Builders through a video showcasing the exterior and interior work on the building. The new internal medicine center will span over 6,100 square meters, accommodating both healthcare workers and patients.

The new building will be connected to a 1,000 square meter connecting corridor, with plans for a skyway to the hospital upon completion. The hospital’s details include a useful floor area of 6,113.5 m², 64 hospital rooms with 112 beds, and a combination of single and double rooms with abundant natural light through windows and glass walls.

The project is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2024, with the connecting corridor slated for completion by the fourth quarter of the same year. This development marks a significant advancement in healthcare infrastructure in the region, providing improved facilities for both medical staff and patients.
