Galatasaray Coach Okan Buruk Criticizes Penalty Decision Ahead of Antalyaspor Match
In the 27th week of the Trendyol Super League, Galatasaray is set to host Antalyaspor on their home turf. However, before the match, Galatasaray’s coach, Okan Buruk, expressed his frustration over a recent penalty decision.
Buruk questioned the reasoning behind penalizing a player just 7 hours before the match, stating, “Which law complies with him being penalized 7 hours before the match? First of all, I don’t know what law you comply with, but I don’t understand how to explain the penalty of a player who was sent off recklessly 7 hours before the match day. Hopefully, they will enlighten us.”
He further emphasized the impact of the last-minute penalty on the team’s preparation, mentioning, “If we had played the match on Sunday, Icardi would have played, but he cannot play because we are playing today. There is bad organization. Unfortunately, these are things we experience, things we are used to.”
Despite the setback, Buruk affirmed the team’s commitment to the upcoming game, stating, “We are playing the 43rd match, there is a win in the 31st match, this shows that we are a strong team. We will do our best to win. We just want to stay on the field.”
