The Mystery of the Missing Crew Members of Ship “Batuhan A” Continues
It has been 70 days since the ship named “Batuhan A” sank in the Sea of Marmara, 4 miles north of Karacabey district, and the two missing crew members have yet to be found. However, there has been a recent development in the case as fishermen discovered a body on the surface of the water in the area where the ship went down.
The body was recovered from the water by Coast Guard Southern Marmara Group Command teams and has been sent to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute for identification. The identity of the body will be determined through DNA testing, which will be compared with the DNA samples taken from the families of the missing chief engineer-machinist Murat Çalışkan (33) and machinery trainee Ahmet Atav (22).
The discovery of this body has brought new hope for closure for the families of the missing crew members. As the investigation continues, authorities are working diligently to uncover the truth behind the sinking of the “Batuhan A” and the fate of the two crew members who are still unaccounted for.
