Illegal Brothel Operation Halted in Sokuluk District

A brothel providing intimate services was recently suppressed in Sokuluk district, according to the press center of the State Committee for National Security.

Two individuals, aged 41 and 37, who were providing intimate services, were detained as part of a criminal case initiated on February 18 under Article 160 (promoting prostitution and debauchery) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Authorities confiscated 8,000 and 7,200 soms, which were received for the provision of intimate services, from the detainees. Additionally, a 46-year-old hotel administrator, who was recruiting girls for the provision of intimate services, was also detained.

The detainees have been placed in the temporary detention center of the Department of Internal Affairs of Sokuluk district, and investigative and operational activities are ongoing.

The crackdown on this illegal operation demonstrates the continued effort of authorities to combat activities related to prostitution and human trafficking in the region.
