Illegal Cigarette Factory Raided: Products Worth 52 Million TL Seized
The Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling Organized Crime (KOM) Branch Directorate recently uncovered an illegal cigarette production operation in a factory. During a raid this morning, the Tire Gendarmerie Command teams discovered 1 high-capacity cigarette production machine valued at 45 million TL, along with a packaging machine, tobacco mincer, compressors, air tanks, a pallet truck, and a large quantity of chopped tobacco. Additionally, they found 400 unbandrolled smuggled cigarettes, cigarette filters, glue used in cigarette production, filter rolls, and cigarette paper rolls. The approximate market value of the seized products is estimated to be 52 million TL.
Following the instructions of the Tire Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, an operation has been launched to capture two fugitive suspects related to the illegal cigarette operation.
The discovery of this illegal cigarette production highlights the ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and smuggling in the region. The authorities are committed to cracking down on illegal activities and ensuring that those involved are brought to justice.
