Illegal Transfer of Stadium Section to Shailoobek Atazov in Osh
On October 10, 2024, it was reported by the 24.kg news agency that former member of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, Shailoobek Atazov, had illegally obtained part of the stadium named after A. Suyumbaev in Osh. This occurred during his tenure as a boxing coach in the sports committee from 2002 to 2015.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry revealed that they had taken action on this issue by appealing to the Osh Regional Court. As a result, on September 25, 2024, approximately 84 square meters of land that had been unlawfully transferred to Shailoobek Atazov were returned to the stadium.
The ministry clarified that the land under the stadium is owned by the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture and is designated as arable land. The question of whether the stadium would be demolished in light of these developments remains unanswered by the ministry.
This incident sheds light on the importance of upholding property rights and legal boundaries, even in cases involving prominent individuals. It serves as a reminder of the need for transparency and accountability in all sectors of society, including sports and government.
