IMF Forecasts Decrease in Azerbaijan’s Unemployment Rate

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted a slight decrease in Azerbaijan’s unemployment rate for the coming years. According to the IMF forecast, the country’s unemployment rate is expected to drop from 5.4% in 2024 to 5.3% in 2025, with the rate remaining steady at 5.3% in 2026.

Data from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reveals that as of March 1, there were 1,758,800 employed workers in the country’s economy. Of these workers, 878,500 were employed in the public sector, while 880,300 were employed in the non-governmental sector. The largest sectors of employment include education, trade and vehicle repair, industry, and healthcare.

With the IMF forecast pointing towards a stable unemployment rate in the coming years and a strong distribution of employment across different sectors, Azerbaijan’s economy continues to show resilience and potential for growth.
