Broken Windows at IMM Building in Saraçhane Closed After Protest
Yesterday evening, during a speech in Saraçhane, CHP leader Ozgur Ozel faced a group of outbursts in the crowd which led to a police intervention. As tensions grew, the police resorted to using pepper spray and pressurized water to disperse the group. In an attempt to escape the intervention, the group headed towards the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) building.
Upon reaching the IMM building, the group encountered security barriers which they forcefully opened to gain access to the building. Once inside, they caused damage to the doors and windows which was discovered the following day. The broken windows were temporarily closed with nylon, but the shoe prints left on the windows were clearly visible.
The incident highlights the ongoing tensions in the city and the need for peaceful resolution of conflicts. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining order and respect for public and government property. Authorities have not yet commented on the incident, but it is expected that further investigations will be carried out to identify those responsible for the damage.
