Districts in Istanbul Feeling Earthquake Below 5.0 Intensity
Residents in several districts of Istanbul felt the impact of an earthquake with a magnitude below 5.0 on the Richter scale. The strongest tremors were experienced in Çatalca, located in the western part of the city, with a recorded intensity of 5.0. Başakşehir and Bakırköy were not far behind, registering tremors at 4.9.
In other parts of Istanbul, such as Arnavutköy and Ümraniye, the earthquake measured 4.6 on the Richter scale, causing brief moments of anxiety among residents. Central districts of the city, including Fatih, Bayrampaşa, and Ataşehir, also felt the tremors, although at a slightly lower magnitude of 4.5. Sarıyer experienced a tremor of 4.4, while districts along the Bosphorus line such as Beşiktaş, Kadıköy, and Beyoğlu reported a magnitude of 4.3.
While the earthquake did not cause significant damage or injuries, it serves as a reminder of the seismic activity in the region. Authorities urge residents to stay vigilant and be prepared for any future earthquakes that may occur in Istanbul.
