Inaugural Meeting of OTS Interparliamentary Friendship Groups Set for May in Istanbul
The first meeting of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is set to take place in Istanbul on May 5-6. This announcement was made by Ahliman Amiraslanov, the Chairman of the Health Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament and the head of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye inter-parliamentary friendship group, who is currently attending the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During this meeting, the representatives will focus on discussing the existing problems in the region and working towards finding solutions. Specifically, the coordination of activities among the parliaments of the Turkic states will be a key topic of discussion. The meeting will also address various challenges faced by the OTS countries, including Azerbaijan’s efforts to restore stability in the South Caucasus, the ongoing peace treaty negotiations with Armenia, and the issue of repatriating Western Azerbaijanis to their homeland.
Furthermore, Amiraslanov mentioned that Azerbaijan is planning to host the second meeting in this format, emphasizing the importance of ongoing dialogue and cooperation among the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States. This gathering presents an opportunity for the participating nations to strengthen their ties and address shared challenges for the betterment of the region.
