Increase in Money Transfers from Kyrgyzstan to Georgia

Money Transfers from Kyrgyzstan to Georgia Show Sharp Increase

In March 2025, the volume of money transfers from Kyrgyzstan to Georgia saw a significant rise, according to reports from the National Bank of Georgia.

During this period, the total amount of money transferred to Georgia from abroad reached $292 million, which is a 4 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The United States continues to hold the top spot in terms of transfer volume, following the trend from 2024. Previously, Russia had been in the leading position.

The National Bank of Georgia reported a sharp increase in transfers from the Kyrgyz Republic, with a 155 percent surge. A total of $7 million was transferred from Kyrgyzstan.

In contrast, Kazakhstan experienced a notable decrease of 44 percent in transfers, while transfers from Russia continued their decline since 2023, dropping by 29 percent.

This shift in money transfer patterns showcases the dynamic nature of economic relationships between countries and highlights the importance of tracking these trends for policymakers and financial institutions.
